Though the network is vast, you should check your Mint coverage before signing up. Mint Mobile uses the T-Mobile network for its service. SD (HD streaming with $60 Unlimited plus plan) Boost Mobile focuses on giving customers a lot of choices so they can choose what suits them best, while Mint Mobile has distilled its data offerings into four distinct plans that must be purchased upfront as three, six, or 12-month increments.ġGB, 2GB, 3GB, 5GB, 6GB, 10GB, 15GB, 35GB (Unlimited)įree (capped at 10GB with the unlimited plan) A prepaid carrier like Mint Mobile or Boost Mobile can help you save some money by providing you with only what you need. When you sign up for phone service with one of the big three carriers, you'll likely end up paying for a list of features you don't need or having way more data than you'll ever use. But if you use an average amount of data and your main goal is to find an affordable plan, Mint Mobile makes a lot of sense with its bundles that save you money over time. Boost Mobile can also give you better value if you sign up for more than one line, especially considering Mint Mobile doesn't have any multi-line discounts. Though Mint Mobile will be cheaper overall, Boost Mobile has many features going for it and favors the data-heavy user. Mint Mobile is distinct in that it is now wholly owned and operated by T-Mobile, similar to the way that the prepaid carrier Visible is owned by Verizon. ![]() If we as people become complacent with the negative changes made by those who provide services, it's only a matter of time before it gets out of hand. Both Mint and Boost are prepaid carriers that use T-Mobile's network to give great service at a lower cost. ![]() It is an almost now Orwellian concept when taken out of context, and I'm sure this as an idea looks ridiculous from an outsider point of view, but I believe these little things are a symptom of a larger evil and a sign of what's to come should the common person fail to recognize their influence. They recognize that most people don't care, and those that do will never gather to create change. We live in a day and age where the wants of the consumer are no longer heeded by large companies. My grievances lie with those that made the decision to maliciously alter the way data is tracked, and sadly it follows Boost as a company even if there are higher ups making these decisions. I do recall them virtually resetting my mobile hotspot last year and was very grateful. ![]() ![]() With that being said, does anybody know of any good service providers that offer greater than or equal to 35 GB with a SEPARATE mobile hotspot with at least 30 GB for a competitive price? If I have 30GB of mobile hotspot, I have to ration out of my personal data of 35 GB. As a Boost customer, I remained loyal because of the common sense plans. This is simply unacceptable and out of touch with the needs of the consumer, and I hope they lose millions more than they save from restricting this data. I have a 4G LTE unlimited data plan with 35 GB 4G LTE data and 30GB of mobile hotspot, and this last month I only used 5GB of 4G data and 30GB of mobile hotspot on the last day for work, and Boost has slowed down my personal data. Adults who are stuck at home without wifi, using their hotspot to keep afloat, kids who need to use their hotspot to do schoolwork, all of them get screwed by this.Īpparently, according to a customer service representative, this is a permanent change. Boost has essentially screwed over hundreds of thousands of customers during this pandemic.
